MAPS Workshop 2019: Mass Spectrometry Proteomics Data Analysis
Thank you all participants for making this workshop a great success!!!
In conjunction with 27th FAOBMB & 44th MSBMB conference (19-22 August 2019), we are organising a one-day workshop @ KLTC, Chulan Tower on 23 August 2019 (Friday) based on previous successful Proteomics Data Analysis Workshop at a very affordable price of RM300.
Registration deadline: 9 Aug (22 Aug 12pm with proof of payment)
After the registration deadline, you can still secure your place at this workshop if you register and send us proof of payment before 12pm 22 Aug.
No walk-in with cash payment is allowed unless you guarantee your attendance by filling in the pre-workshop questionnaire with registration.
All participants must register and complete the pre-workshop questionnaire!
As a local participant, you're entitled for a free MAPS membership when you register as a MAPS member using the official receipt of workshop payment. Don't miss out this opportunity in becoming a member of MAPS to enjoy discounted rates for our future events.
This workshop aims to provide a crash course for researcher interested in proteomics research by giving an overview of bioinformatics data analysis involving proteome dataset, particularly nLC-MS shotgun proteomics. Participants from different backgrounds will benefit from this workshop that covers a broad range of topics from beginner to advanced levels.
Topics include:
1. Mass spectrometry analysis in proteomics
2. MaxQuant analysis for large-scale proteomics
3. Perseus for statistical analysis of omics data
4. ProteomeXchange for data repository
Upon the completion of this workshop, participants will be capable of:
For workshop participants, make sure you bring along your own laptop with 64-bit Windows 10 operating system (OS) with a minimum of 2 GB RAM and 10 GB hard disk storage. For MAC user, please install Windows using a virtual machine.
Please download and install the following software prior to the workshop:
Links for datasets
For hands-on practicals, make sure that all software can run on your laptop before coming to the workshop. Due to time constraint we don't have the time to individually troubleshoot software installation.
You can email us if facing any difficulty, we will try our best to reply as workshop secretariat will be busy with FAOBMBKL from 19-22 Aug.
Apologies for not stated clearly about the Windows 10 OS due to requirement for .Net Framework 4.7.2 or higher.
Don't worry if your laptop cannot run the software, you can still learn a lot from this workshop on the basics of proteomics, different technologies, analysis workflow, applications, data interpretation and visualisation.
